Oh man, no Cynder until Season 2 according to Eric Rogers on twitter. Probably extends to no Hex since they usually are always in the same stories, unless she'll be the Undead represent in season 1 :C
Anime? In my Skylanders? It's more likely than you think.

Well, yeah, but that we knew since last year.
New info from tweets:
-Serialized arcs, like Gravity Falls; no following game plots meaning they probably will spare using the show as new game advertisement for now.

So it's going to be it's own series. Cool~

Personally, I'm kind of excited for this series! Especially knowing it's gonna have the writers of Futurama on board, that show was comedy gold.

And, all I can say I want to see from the show is Golden Queen, or any of the Doom Raiders really. But mostly GQ.

From the tweets:
  • Each episode will be 30 minutes.
  • There will be character development, even surprising arcs.

Excellent. I wonder if this will give Skylanders a bigger community than before. I mean, more than just fans, but like more people drawing fan art and comics and stuff like that.

If the show turns out to be really good and attract older fans, for sure. Though it might set the standards too high and they'll end up playing the games expecting character development, getting disappointed.

I have to admit I'm also really excited to see how this turns out! If there's arcs like in Gravity Falls then I'm especially excited!

I know I already said that I wanted to see this, but, can anyone with a twitter account ask them if the Doom Radiers are planned for the series? At all?

That was asked, but Eric didn't reply to it. Only quoted it in one of his tweets.

Edit:

Rejoice: Kaos will be the main bad guy, along with the Doom Raiders in Season 1 -

If it's character development they're doing, they better do something really damn good with Stealth Elf. She is more than worthy of having character development.
In fact, I think they should try and introduce Whisper Elf and establish a faux mother-daughter relationship between the 2.
Pipe dream, but it's not entirely impossible.

Oh, and 30 minute episodes?! When Sonic Boom is less than 10 and has to double up?! I'm in heaven!

Depends on what you mean by older fans. If you mean age wise then you make a good point... if you are for some reason referring to the retro- Spyro the Dragon fans, then that will do nothing but create further friction between the dedicated retro fans and the die-hard Skylander fans.
I assume though that that is not what you meant at all?

I just mean older fans in general. People who are usually into better writing more than just action.

Eric Rogers has stopped asking fan questions for now. Activision gagged him.

Well 'gag order' is an easy way of explaining it, when it's a company about to sign a contract it's probably a Non-Disclosure Agreement. And on that,he said that should be finalized any day now.

I have a feeling that they may also show previews of the show in E3, like how Sonic Boom did it.

If that's the case, then what do you suppose are the chances that the next game could possibly be a tie in with the show? Only not terrible.

Eric confirmed that the show is not connected to the games.

I mean, it's possible the devs may showcase bits of the show as part of their Skylanders exhibit at E3, if they have the new game set up there.

I think we're on two different playing fields. I was supposing a game based around the show; not a standard game that uses elements from the show. You know, a spin-off title!

One thing I hope we get from the show is origin story episodes. Like episodes that delve into a character's backstories. I feel like there's good material for episodes there.

I've noticed some attention from people outside the fandom on the show because of Eric Rogers' promises, and, of course, Spyro as lead. Here's reaaaallly hoping he's truthful about it.

I'm not familiar with Eric's work - I don't even watch Futurama. But if he is as honest as he is clever, then we oughta get something REAL nice! Smile

Oh, and Mr AdamGregory, I don't think we'll get origin episodes until Series 2 since we are only focusing on Soyro, Stealth Elf and Eruptor for Series 1.
