Toys for Bob hiring for new project
#1
Obviously we don't know what it could be, though it's probably not Skylanders-related since it's on hiatus. Though the huring calls do give a few subtle hints about it:
1. It's being made in Unreal Engine
2. If the fact that they're looking for an art director is any indication, it's in early pre-production (possibly not even be in the concept art phase)
3. It's going to be multi-platform and will likely have online multiplayer.

Hm, it could be a different game franchise they're working on.

And some users don't read the full job description and assume it may be a Skylander title.

TFB Job Descriptions Wrote:...to join our team in creating the next generation in our history of award-winning, best-selling games.

Although an Unreal Engine 4 Skylanders game would be cool though. Because with Unreal Engine 4 the grafics look more high quality.

But I hope is an interesting New IP.

Hmmm, very interesting. I hope it's Skylander related. Nice to see that TFB is still at work!

The fact that they said they're creating the next generation of their games suggests that it's not Skylanders-related.

They've now posted a job add for a QA Tester. Do you like playing games from the very first code all the way to the final release build over and over and over again hunting down bugs, glitches and other stuff? Then this is for you. Though, you have to be efficient with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo projects.

Beta testing, huh?
I'd be down if I was the kind of gamer who TRIES to break games on a daily basis... but I'm not.
I just play the game and discover stuff by accident - I'm observant, not explorative.

I'm an ideas guy of anything. (That and I want to learn coding... could I be offered an internship somewhere perhaps?)

It's not as much of a dream job as it sounds. QAing is only fun and games until you're playing the same thing for 6 months every workday, see your concerns get ignored at the latter half because they have to use the development time for something else, and be the first to be laid off when the dev team is in trouble.

Still, if you want to work on games and aren't quite there with your skills, no better place to learn. Just keep in mind this is the perfect example of too much of a good thing and it's not as stable as being an actual programmer or artist.

(I might be wrong about some things, most of this is just hearing from people that worked on it for a handful of games at the most)

Yeah, like he did with the N. Sane Trilogy... and then made it sound like he's accusing the developers of doing a bad job.
Seriously, that Day 1 Glitches video and it's comment section rubbed me all the wrong way.

If he's going to be like that, then he should have a go at games no-one will target - Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to name a few.

No idea yet. The fact that the calls say “next generation in our history” suggests it may not be Skylanders. It doesn’t look like it’s coming out next year, either.
